News Item 7 - MICROCHIP & CENTRAL EQUINE DATABASE WARNING

Time is running out to get your horse microchipped! From the 1st October 2020 the microchipping of ALL equines in England will become compulsory by law.

Please also remember that under the new legislation owners or keepers of equines have a legal obligation to have their equine microchipped and registered with the Central Equine Database (www.equineregister.co.uk), if they have not done so already. The owner or keeper is responsible for keeping these details up to date and, whenever there is a change of keeper, the new keeper must ensure their details are recorded with the database within 30 days of the transfer.

We hope this advice will help all of our clients stay the right side of the new law which is there to help return stolen horses to their rightful owners and to protect equine welfare.

Our experienced team are ready to help should you need your horse microchipping to ensure you are complying with the new law.

News Item 8 - New Vets on the scene, Sarah Hunter

The good news keeps on coming at Clevedale Vets Equine

We are overjoyed that our equine team is now complete following the arrival of Sarah Hunter MRCVS

Originally from Northumberland, Sarah graduated in 2012 from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She joined the Clevedale team after enjoying long term roles in two busy practices in North Yorkshire.

Sarah has worked with high-level competition horses and has an interest in lameness and diagnostic imaging. Sarah’s love of veterinary medicine is demonstrated by dedicating large amounts of her personal time studying towards an RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. Along with her new colleagues, she epitomises our culture at Clevedale in demonstrating her commitment to ongoing learning and progression for the benefit of the horses she treats.

Sarah has written several articles for Your Horse and British Eventing magazines and she enjoys educating owners, sharing her extensive knowledge, which she is so passionate about.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys keeping fit through running, riding, and playing rugby.

Sarah joins our highly experienced team with extensive knowledge covering all disciplines. Many of our vets regularly write articles for a host of well known equine publications, giving you the confidence you’ll be getting the best every time you call us.

We look forward to all of our wonderful staff and clients giving her a very warm welcome.
